I'm still deep in the seventh level of proofreading hell on WW 3.2, doing my last pass while I wait for Chris Pepper to send me his nitpicks.
I just spent a couple of minutes staring at this passage of text, trying to figure out what was wrong with it.
I could tell without checking the embedded note that “There weren't…” was supposed to be “There were no…”
But I stared at the second highlighted edit, and I simply couldn't figure out what the problem was.
It became a perverse challenge not to click on the note and to try and figure it out myself.
Pure word blindness.
