Journal bias?

Andrew Oswald looks at adjacent articles and their citations in economic journals to see whether discrimination is present. The idea is that if there is favouritism, the favourites will have lower citations on average than the rest. Contrary to popular opinion, he finds that the Quarterly Journal of Economics is not biased in favour of Harvard economists while the Journal of Political Economy, contrary to all belief, is biased against Chicago economists.
