In our household we mark off medication and treatments to dogs on the calendar. That is how I found out that today is the Winter Solstice. I suspect that there should be a pagan festival to mark the event, but perhaps in Northern Europe it would have been too cold to celebrate the shortest day of the year. Time to reflect how important of the rotation of the earth and the moon to life on earth.

This is the ninety-fourth dog blog, but who is counting. And we are on a number theme. Sasha and Dexter have identity numbers that can be read by microchip readers, since most people do have these they also have the old name, address and telephone number on their dog tags.

Until Wednesday, the walks were more or less routine. The sun goes down over the escarpment now in the middle of winter, so the our timing is by the sun. Then we were joined by Jock, who lives around the corner and across from the back fence.
