A few months back i praised the then Liberal shadow minister for education, the guy with the pedophile smile on saying something decent about education. He didn't say anything that amazing, it just took me back because i think it was the first time i had ever heard a Liberal MP say anything about education that wasn't about "SIMPSON AND HIS DONKEY, POSTMODERNISM, UNIONS, LEFT WING BIAS, FLAGPOLES"

Mr Pyne said Professor Freebody's appointment was "a red light flashing for parents and experts in the field".

"By appointing Professor Freebody as the person to do the English curriculum, they are signalling that far from being an advocate of traditional teaching values, they are continuing the fluffy, nebulous, some would say dangerous, teaching methods of the last few decades," he said.

Wait, how can something be fluffy and dangerous? Unless he is describing a gremlin in its pre-monstrous state.

"This appointment of Peter Freebody is a classic case in which the Labor Party says one thing to allay the fears of parents and the sector and then, through their actions, is advancing a different ideological agenda."

Mr Pyne said Ms Gillard "either has too much on her plate to focus on the details or she is being hamstrung by ideologues in her own office".

He said the Coalition supported a national curriculum only if it led to a return to traditional teaching methods in English, "not if it is a centralised form of a left-wing ideology".

Pyne doesn't exactly say why why Professor Freebody is a dangerous lefty, he just shouts a lot of words to get attention. Pyne, why dont you list what peer reviewed journals and research of Freebodys makes him out of step with the mainstream? Is that too hard for you?

I think being out of government the Libs don't gain much attention playing their reds under the bed game. Julia and Freebody hardly even seem bothered by Pyne's accusations.

A spokeswoman for Ms Gillard said Mr Pyne's comments were "disappointing and petty".

Professor Freebody declined to comment yesterday.

Take that Pyne, your "he's a filthy lefty" accusations don't even warrant a retort from the people in question. You are just a minor annoyance for spokesmen to deal with.

And congratulations Pyne, you look like you will acheive as much in education as your colleagues Brendan Nelson and Julie Bishop. Sweet Fuck All.
