I wonder if there won't soon come a time where pregnant women won't just decide to stay home when they're about to give birth. I mean, it beats this:
A pregnant Gold Coast woman was forced to spend several hours in labour on the floor of a hospital storeroom last Friday because there were no beds available.
The woman reportedly arrived at the Gold Coast Hospital about 8am but was left in a closed waiting room for an hour.
She was then moved to a storeroom and given a mattress to lie on, but staff could not find a pillow for her. The woman spent three hours in the cupboard before a delivery suite became free.
You know, the more I think about it, the more I think that Anna Bligh could have postponed the wholly unnecessary $63 million Wank Tank St bridge showpiece until she had actually got all the important stuff done. Clearly she's splashing taxpayers' money about in all the wrong places. I mean, I understand stuff like this happens all the time in the third world, but what the fuck is Anna Bligh's excuse for it happening in Queensland?
