Last Friday was an extremely important day at Charles Angus Spear Pty Ltd. I had been attempting a world record at making the longest chain of paper clips and my assistant, Sophie, had spent the morning watching a vest on eBay. At about 1pm, I left the office in Sophia's hands to go and purchase a six-pack of beer to tide us both over until after-work drinks at the Marrakesh Lounge in Little Collins St. $1 Coronas were awaiting us.
Upon my return, I found Sophia in a panic, she was looking worried, gasping for air and pointing at the computer screen. Instead of bidding $61 for the vest that she fancied, she had bid $6,100 instead. She made me promise not to tell her husband for at least three years, however, she said nothing about not telling the blogosphere.
