Alcohol for the kids, petrol for mum and dad and a new Bentley for Malcolm

Be honest Brendan, you let Corey do your budget reply didn't you? Thanks for making sure this douche bag's pocket money will buy more Bacardi Breezers.

That's what Dr Brendan has in reply to the federal budget.

Brendan Nelson tonight promised a 5c-a-litre tax cut for petrol and said the Coalition would oppose Labor tax rises on alcopops and luxury cars in his official reply to Labor's budget.

Dr Nelson's surprise petrol announcement would cost the budget $1.8 billion a year. Based on today's average pump price for unleaded petrol in Sydney, it would drop from 148.8 cents to 143.8 cents - a saving of $2.50 for a 50-litre car and only worth slightly more than a supermarket 4c-a-litre shop-a-docket discount.

I really don't know what to say, I had no idea it was Liberal party policy to force me to subsidise idiots who refuse to buy more efficient cars. It gets better though.

In the most important speech of his six-months as Liberal leader, Dr Nelson said the Coalition would use its control of the Senate to block the budget's $3.1 billion increase on alcopops and $555 million increase in the luxury car tax.

Yes, you read that right. the coalition are going to fight for the right of the beverage industry to intoxicate your kids and to make Bentleys more affordable for the obscenely rich. The Liberals, party of Snidley Whiplash.
