Yes, this is a reoccurring theme here at ToKblog, but repetition is one of the basic skills of politics: McCain is McSame as Bush.
He’s a bumbler:
Yesterday, John McCain made a gaffe that no one cared about: he referred to the Czech Republic as “Czechoslovakia,” which is actually correct, but only if you think time froze in 1992.
As George W Bush said during the 2000 Republican Primary in response to previous McCain bumbles:
“But it’s an amazing phenomenon, I’ll tell you that. It’s like the flap over the foreign-leader deal. A guy gets up and quizzes me — it’s my fault for trying to answer — but John McCain says something about the ‘ambassador to Czechoslovakia.’ Well, I know there is no Czechoslovakia (there’s a Czech Republic and a Slovakia), but yet it didn’t make the nightly national news. I’m not going to gripe about it, but the media question is starting to pop up.”
He’s a misogynist:
the latest gem someone has unearthed from a 1986 copy of the Tucson Citizen, one that got him in a tit-bit of trouble at the time. After the jump: McCain’s crack about the gorilla who rapes and murders some gal in the street.
And he’s ultra-conservative:
John McCain Says Maybe Gay Adoption Preferable To Child Abandonment
This collection of McCain eye openers are all from Wonkette in the past week. There will no doubt be many more.
