Keep on Truckin'

The Bastard Son - August 30, 2008 - 3:17pm

A month after Grodscorp lit up an excited interwebs with the revelation that opposition leader Brendan Nelson is having a big truck adventure, the big day has finally arrived.

OPPOSITION Leader Brendan Nelson began his truckie trip from Melbourne to Dubbo today, leaving the Victorian city shortly after 7:30 am.

Terminator 4 : "welcome to the JD Bitch"

The Bastard Son - August 2, 2008 - 9:25pm

When i was young, Terminator 2 : Judgement Day was that movie that pretty much everyone enjoyed, talked about at school and watched whenever it was replayed on tv.

And now the franchise had been weakened by a poor third installment, a mediocre television series and a soon to be released fourth movie. Read more »

Dont like bad coffee? anti-American terrorist pinko scum

The Bastard Son - August 1, 2008 - 12:42am

I wonder if any of the journo's who came up with crazy excuses as to why Starbucks failed so miserably in Australia have ever drunk any of their coffee? It should be pretty obvious to any coffee drinker with any self-respect that they offered a sub-standard product at a heavily inflated price, those market forces teh right love so dearly at work. gayness leads to drug use

The Bastard Son - July 19, 2008 - 1:47pm

It is an unfortunate case about the abc's South Asia correspondent getting caught with drugs in Singapore, when he was certain to know the risks he was taking and the harsh penalties that applied. But still you gotta admire the Daily Terror for trying to connect his sexuality to his drug use. Read more »

Nightwish quite simply kick ass

The Bastard Son - July 15, 2008 - 8:36pm

I have never been the most loyal metal fan but like the odd band that sticks out from the pack. Too much american metal seems to rely on silly gimmicks, like Slipknot and Mudvayne giving their members evil clown masks and monster costumes to distract from the banality of their music. Read more »

sensible politician proposes sensible education policy, really!

The Bastard Son - July 12, 2008 - 3:24am

As a long time advocate for improving funding and education standards its quite depressing how piss weak the debate is on the subject. Through the Howard era education ministers were foot soldiers in the culture war and little else. Their big achievements and reforms in education consist of flagpoles, accusing the education department of being run by dirty Maoists, yelling at teachers unions and trying to motivate teachers by threatening to pay them less. A typical Brendan Nelson doorstop

The Bastard Son - July 11, 2008 - 8:56pm

How many meaningless catchphrases can Nelson fit into a small doorstop?

DR NELSON:

Well it’s terrific to be in Launceston. I spent the first 13 years of my life living in Newnham. Launnie is one of the best places in the country and it’s always wonderful to be back her in Launceston.

Daily Terror names and shames 13 year old girl for being sexually active

The Bastard Son - July 9, 2008 - 4:08am

There has been a lot said recently about how effective our child protection services are given many recent cases of child neglect that seemingly went unnoticed. The Daily Terror has been waging a jihad against the NSW Department of Community Services and if that department is as badly run as everything else the NSW govt touches it is probably partly justified, however this beat up was way off the mark.

Forget the real paedophiles, lets vilify artists

The Bastard Son - July 8, 2008 - 1:11am

As both the Prime Minister and the opposition Leader felt the need to publicly condemn a tiny little arts magazine for printing an innocent nude picture of a young girl, i assume they will be more outraged and publicly condemn the Archbishop of Sydney George Pell over recent revelations that he lied to a sexual abuse victim to protect the perpetrator.

Crisis, what crisis?

The Bastard Son - August 30, 2008 - 2:34pm

One of the biggest issues in the upcoming US presidential election is health care. define hypocrisy

The Bastard Son - July 16, 2008 - 7:25pm

An official of a church that is dedicated to spread the word of an alleged prophet who may or may not have lived over 2000 years ago, tells sex abuse victims to get over it because the abuse happened last decade.

Bishop Fisher said he was disappointed people were focusing on sexual abuse while the WYD festivities were taking place.

"I think most of Australia was enjoying, delighting in the beauty and goodness of these young people ... rather than dwelling crankily as a few people are doing on old wounds," he said.

Rape tends to get people quite cranky Mr Fisher.

THE price of petrol could soar to a crippling $8 a litre over the coming decade, according to CSIRO-sponsored research to be released today.

The nightmare scenario says the weekly family fuel bill for a medium-sized passenger vehicle could rise to $220 by 2018 - taking $12,000 a year out of family budgets.

But under a coalition government petrol would only be $7.95 a litre, crisis solved. Take that peak oil. Read more »

Nirvana in child pornography probe

The Bastard Son - July 8, 2008 - 8:18pm

The Front Page of the Daily Terror, January 12th 2009.

US record label SubPop is being investigated by NSW police after complaints were made by child protection campaigner Hetty Johnston about sexually explicit artwork featuring a baby on the cover of an album by 90's grunge group Nirvana.

"It is clearly a sexual pose that they have put the baby in, the fishing line with a dollar bill is obviously a metophor for child prostitution, and a naked baby is unacceptable no matter the context." Ms Johnston said. Read more »

be careful Daily Terror, some or your journo's are pedo's

The Bastard Son - July 7, 2008 - 7:33pm

There has been more debate over a photo of a nude child on the cover of Art Monthly, just after the Bill Henson witchunt. Ruddsy called them revolting, or something to that effect, Nelson upped the ante claiming the picture is a "two fingered salute" to Australia and promised to call the cops over it. Presumably Steve Fielding will raise the stakes and lead an angry mob to burn down an art gallery not to be outdone. Read more »
