Diary - Street Dealing

The Australian Heroin Diaries - November 3, 2008 - 10:20am

DIARY: I was sitting in the car waiting for Angela a few days ago and noticed 2 suspicious looking men walk past me. I can spot these people a mile off ... clean, new looking runners, freshly washed KMart jeans, short hair, often bulky and looking healthy but unshaven. They have the look and manner of someone going somewhere but not sure where. Read more »

Shrinking Brains ... Who Cares!

The Australian Heroin Diaries - October 24, 2008 - 6:14pm

Ice shrinks the brain. Alcohol shrinks the brain. Cannabis shrinks the brain. Even veggies shrink the brain. You probably know that cannabis shrinks the brain because we hear it all the time but what happens when it is reported that a few drinks shrink the brain ... not much it seems.

Man, I'm Stoned ... Age

The Australian Heroin Diaries - October 22, 2008 - 6:19pm

So man has been taking drugs since the stone age. Having progressed to an advanced stage of evolution and being all wise with so much history behind us, we decide using those drugs should be a crime ... and the world turns to shit. It seems to me that whilst humanity has achieved so much, we have learnt so little.  Read more »

Another Avoidable and Senseless Death

The Australian Heroin Diaries - October 10, 2008 - 6:30pm

We are so lucky to have a moral conscience in this country. You know, those moral crusaders who want to be tough on drugs and damn the consequesnces . Who cares why people take drugs, it’s illegal and immoral and that’s what counts. Think of the children who will be given the wrong message if we go soft on drugs.

DIARY: It’s OK ... It’s Just Alcohol

The Australian Heroin Diaries - November 9, 2008 - 11:18pm

DIARY: The more I research the more I start to notice how prevalent legal drug use is in the form of alcohol. It has all the characteristics of illicit drug use but somewhere we have accepted it as normal behaviour. Piers Akerman, His Readers, Oxycodone and The Truth

The Australian Heroin Diaries - October 28, 2008 - 12:21pm

I was starting to feel optimistic about the future of drug treatment until I made the mistake of reading News.com. Politicisation of Science

The Australian Heroin Diaries - October 14, 2008 - 9:06am

One of the main problems with society is the political system. It was while I was watching an interview with John Howard many years ago that it struck me how politics had taken a new turn. Howard said in an interview that the most important issue in Australia was the liberal party winning the upcoming election and they needed to focus all their efforts on achieving that win. Although it’s probably true for most politicians, I had never publicly heard this before. Read more »
